Sixth Grade Introduction

God has truly blessed us at Holy Family Catholic School with all of our wonderful parent volunteers.  In leading the middle school committee, it has made me even more aware of your support and willingness to do what it takes to provide the best education we can for our students.  I feel truly blessed to be a part of this community.  Mrs. Lyon 

Religion- This quarter we will look at the meaning of the Apostle's Creed.

Social Studies-   The Middle Ages is our focus for 4th quarter.  We are working on a layered unit that will develop the student's higher level thinking skills.  The students have a choice of projects in the classroom, but most choose to build a model of a castle.  What fun!

 Language Arts: We are reviewing punctuation, literary terms, and other mechanics of writing in preparation for the M.A.P. tests in May.

Math (Course 1)-  Chapter 10  Integers and Chapter 11  Exploring Probability

4th Quarter Independent Assignments:  Action plans have been brought home for your signature.  Be sure to put on your calendars the Showcase of Projects on Monday, June 2.

Students have been given their 4th quarter AR goals.  Please help them set aside time for reading.

Community Service:  at least 3 hours by June 5.  Hours from 3rd quarter in excess of 3 will roll over into 4th quarter.
